Quartz & sand finish in Thousand Oaks: Quick Answer

A quartz or sand finish builds grip into the floor itself, the best choice for pool decks, patios and commercial wet areas. Installed price: $9–$16.50 per sq ft; typical two-car garage $3,600–$6,600; install time 2–3 days.

Colored quartz or sand is broadcast into the basecoat, scraped and sealed, then topcoated. The texture lives in the system, not in a grit additive that wears off.

How It Goes In

  1. Diamond grinding — opens the slab to a bonding profile; we never acid-etch.
  2. Cleaning — HEPA vacuum to remove all grinding dust.
  3. Repairs — cracks, pits and spalls filled and ground flush.
  4. Vertical coating — stem walls coated a few inches up for a clean edge.
  5. Basecoat — pigmented epoxy basecoat, moisture-tolerant where slab readings require it.
  6. Broadcast — flake, quartz or sand broadcast to rejection (or a metallic pour).
  7. Scrape & vacuum — loose chips removed for a smooth surface.
  8. Topcoat — UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat rated for hot tires.
